| What is the common thing between Mario - a nice smiley Romanian man, who lived in Japan and England, Deyan - a young, spirited Bulgarian living in Spain, Elena (as the one of Troy) - a Bulgarian woman who lived in England for many years and a few more, also colorful and smiley Bulgarian boys? What made them all gather at the same time in the same place in the heart of the Romanian capital Bucharest?
The answer may be unusual and inexplicable to many but it is the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. On 6th of August BJJ fans from Helios club Ruse, led by their coach Mitko Rujinov, visited his longtime acquaintance Marius Varlan. They met 8 years ago at a seminar led by the famous BJJ master Braulio Estima. Seminars with different masters connect them several more times over the years, but then their paths got separated.
Marius possesses black belt in Judo and purple belt in BJJ. After spending several years in Japan where he worked and trained he returned to Romania and set up his own club. In 2016 he lived and trained in London in the Roger Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy. This year in June he returned back to Romania. BJJ met him again with Ruse's coach Mitko Rujinov but this time to set the beginning of their joint cooperation. As a sports competitor Mario has many awards from European Championships and other major tournaments in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He has trained under the guidance of many eminent masters such as Mauricio Gomes, Roger Gracie, , Royce Gracie, Rickson Gracie, Braulio Estima.
Smiley kind and patient he is a wonderful teacher in the subtleties of this martial art. The hot sports hall (+ 42'С!) was not a big obstacle for the Ruse group and they gladly absorbed knowledge from the Gracie brothers' system.
